Nora Roberts: The woman who rewrote the rules of romantic fiction
I’ve only read a few Nora Roberts books and they were hit-or-miss for me, but I greatly admire her as a person.

I love the bit about how women aren’t supposed to have expectations. I’m going to remember that one.

This is so timely for me. Definitely going in the conclusion to my talk.

This interview is so fantastic. Say what you will about her books; I want to be Nora Roberts when I grow up.
Last night I dreamed that I won a Barnes & Noble gift card, and when I went to the store, I couldn’t think of what else to buy, so I bought a Nook (even though I already own a Kindle), because who needs paper books, am I right? I felt guilty the whole time, like I was part of the problem.
THEN I dreamed that a friend’s husband died in a plane crash, and that really spooked me when I woke up, but he’s posted to Twitter today, so I assume he’s all right.
I do not know what is wrong with my psyche.
Internet was out at work all morning, so this is a late-in-the-day post, but here’s a thing that happened:
Chris Hayes and I get coffee from the same diner, and I nearly collided with him this morning. When I got to the counter, the counter girl said, “How is that man so adorable?” And, truly, he’s much cuter in person than on TV, so I agreed with the counter girl. But then one of the waitresses said, “Eh, he kind of looks like a grown-up Harry Potter to me.”
That was funnier at the time.
