My dash is, like, 78% Teen Wolf gifs. You guys are FANS, huh?
Hi, tumblr! Hi! I have been a sporadic user of you all summer, but I have some things to say in long form, so I’m back, bitches, at least for today!

We Want More of Erin: The ML's Guide to Writing in...
I’m totally famous, you guys.
lettersandlight:
Erin is one of our fantastic Municipal Liaisons in New York City, and has been leading the NaNoWriMo charge there since 2003. We asked her to give us the Wrimo’s Guide to noveling in NYC, and boy, did she deliver.
If you find yourself wondering where to write in the Empire City, let Erin regale you with tales of the “Desperation...

Superstar on Broadway
Last night, I went to see the Broadway revival of Jesus Christ Superstar; I give it 3.5 stars.
There was nothing new or different about this production, and the cast is all unknowns. (I would take the time to look up their names, but I’m lazy.) A rundown:
This production seems determined to play up the Judas-Jesus-Mary love triangle (altering the score slightly to do so—for example, Judas...

Also, hey, what’s up, tumblr. I’ve been too busy to pay much attention to you for the last couple of weeks and I miss my dashboard, which is pretty much all hot guys, romance novels, baseball, and dinosaurs all the time. THE BEST, in other words. The long winter of work sucking out my soul is hopefully ending soon, and then I will be back, and all shall love me and despair.

Jezebel: The Thrill Of a Trashy, Juicy Retro Read →
ongradschool:
I have a love/hate (really more hate than love recently) relationship with Jezebel, but I was so thrilled to see their ode to Judith Krantz’s novel Scruples. I read it for the first time when I was 13, and I quickly followed it up with every other Krantz novel. But Scruples is still my hands-down favorite.
Last spring, I was talking to a few friends over Twitter about “the books...

BJ Upton To Become The Official Baseball...
oldtimefamilybaseball:
(Reuters Pictures)
BJ Upton has always been a frustrating player. Despite being blessed with an endless array of tools and abilities, Upton has never come close to matching his 2007 season when he hit .300/.386/.522 as a 22-year-old. Since that time, and despite three 40+ steal seasons, Upton has batted only .250/.337/.408, just barely ahead of league average, and has...

Your Lifestyle Choices Have Consequences
oldtimefamilybaseball:
Derek Holland Sans Mustache: 1.2 IP, 8 H, 8 ER, 2 BB, 2 SO
Freddie Freeman Augmented By Goggles: 3-for-5, 1 HR, 1 2B, 3 RBI, 2 R
Now, I’m not saying that having a mustache and wearing goggles would make you an unstoppable baseball machine, one that was just as comfortable blowing mid-90s heat by batters as you would be smashing giant taters, but I’m not not saying...

Zach Wahls delivers petition supporting gay scout... →
gaywrites:
Teen activist Zach Wahls, whose testimony for marriage equality in Iowa went viral, delivered a petition urging the Boy Scouts of America to reinstate a den leader who was forced out of her position when it was discovered she was gay.
Jennifer Tyrrell, the mother of a 7-year-old Cub Scout, started a petition on Change.org in April after being told she couldn’t be a den leader anymore...

According to Simon Pegg, Khan is not in the next...
iheartchaos:
A while back, a lot of people seemed really damn certain that Benedict Cumberbatch was playing Khan in JJ Abrams’ next Star Trek film. But according to actor Simon Pegg, that’s not the case. He can’t say who Cumberbatch is, but he’s not Khan.

virgin identity →
I don’t have time to write a lot about this, but I think it’s kind of interesting. Apparently there’s a rising trend toward male virgins in romance novels. (Is there an inverse trend for fewer female virgins? It’s not clear!)
I think what I find really interesting, though, is that there’s still this trend toward virginity at all, especially in contemporaries. Why is...
